Now another hike of 10k a month, that too tax exempted

Yes, while i was writing my previous post, our greedy parliamentarians were planning their next move. As usual their melodrama fetched them additional 10k per month, this time a pure tax free perk. How ironical the fact is that the people who represents us in the parliament decides their own salaries? Using us, the voters, as mere numbers to manupulate & tools to ensuring their seats in the prestigious house.

Should not be there a democratic process in place, to decide on remuneration and perks of parliamentarians? A process where common man like me feel more inclusive. At present, we are just like mute spectators, watching our country getting mauled by its own people.

I wish to live in a Democracy where it is applied, in its real sense. A system which assimilate peoples' opinion, not simply posing on to them. In democracy, the truth must be retained, however inconvenient it may be.

300 percent hike for parliamentarians

One of the Parliamentarian was mentioning that he spends 25-30 grand every month towards offering tea to his visitors/constituents. Apparently, the guy is a chieftain of one the princely states of India.
How sick/silly the reasoning is?

The government has announced to increase the salary of our parliamentarians from 15k to 50k. A bloody 300 percent hike. All this happened amidst high intensity drama in both the houses. I'm sure many corporates would be red faced and i wish they could take some lessons from it :).

The hike is unreasonable by any scientific calculation or logic and going to further stress the exchequer. Anyways, this should not bother the govt as they have the cushion of tax payers (slogging asses) in growing numbers.

We have celebrated our 63rd years of independence (chronic misery for many) few days back. Despite the fact, we are yet to establish a transparent institution, whose sole responsibility will be to appraise the individual performances of parliamentarians. The appraisal will be against the proposed agenda (task sheet) submitted while filing for the nomination. The institution will be reporting to Election Commission, cc to President of India & Supreme Court.

I know, there may be such proposals made in the past by senior policy makers, thinkers or very few left - proactive bureaucrats. Even though the proposals would have died, suffocated in the dusty files.

The matter must re-surface, discussed and brought to reality. The financial records (earning against assets) of our representatives at both Parliament Houses must be audited methodically. The guity and non-persormers' political career should be wrapped up, to pave path for others.

Raining future

FO for almost last two months now, last year's abysmal rain and even dreadful water management led to real bad harvesting seasons. On top of all millions of tonnes of food grain rot - facilitating netas to adjourn parliament proceedings at regular intervals, abuse each other, waste precious tax money paid by commoners like me & many more.
Aam janta reeling under pressure of rising prices while prime time news slots are flooded with intellectual debate on rising inflation. The famous India pastime - PTB (Bass the buck) is on.

Yesterday even the parliament house gave its way to rain drops. Netas got some real cool issue to continue their dog fight at the expense of millions of white collar corporate honchos fighting to reach their respective offices on time, & foremost keep their jobs intact.

Our tax money is getting looted, coin-by-coin, in the name of CWG. Do we have a say is this so called democracy? At one hand people are dying of hunger, not becouse of lack of food but becoz of lack of ACCESS TO FOOD.
